“… merely players?”: A Lunchtime Panel on Theater in Berlin with Dramaturges Claus Caesar and Steffen Sünkel, hosted by Prof. Katrin Dettmer, on Tuesday, April 19, 1:30 – 3:00pm

If “all the world’s a stage,” Berlin certainly contributes enormously to its variety of players – the city is home to numerous theaters and artists that not only endeavor to find new ways of expression on the stage but also ceaselessly strive to engage in the complex and often controversial conversations and emerging practices that shape our lives in Berlin and around the world.

For our second lunchtime panel, we’ll be welcoming theater makers in Berlin for a discussion about the diversified theater landscape of the city and how contemporary issues are negotiated on the stage. Our guests will include Claus Caesar (Dramaturge, Deutsches Theater), Steffen Sünkel (Dramaturge, Berliner Ensemble), and others.

The lunchtime panel will take place at Frannz, opposite the Academic Center, on Tuesday, April 19, from 1:30 to 3:00pm. A light lunch will be served to all participants.
